The draft is waiting on you. That is the safe part.
You said what the thing is. The Etsy draft still does not know your price, how many you have, what it is made of, or the box it ships in. If those get filled from what similar listings usually say, you are the one who has to stand behind them later.
What a guess costs
A buyer reads a material you did not mean. Calculated shipping uses a weight you never gave. Two sizes go out at one price because nobody asked what each one costs. The evening you saved on the first draft comes back as corrections.
Say it, or leave it open
If you have already said a fact, it can be saved as your words. If you have not, it can sit as a suggestion with a reason, still marked, until you accept it. A blank is more honest than a confident guess. A research price is a suggestion. A quantity of one, when you have not given a number, is a suggestion. Neither is something you said.
The question arrives as a card
Missing facts are asked on a card in the chat, not as a form you have to go and hunt for. The label is short: Price, Quantity, When made, a material, a measurement. A progress line tells you where you are, such as question 2 of 5.
When a suggestion has a real basis, it shows on one line with the reason and a Use button. A price suggestion comes from the middle of similar listings, and the line says so. Use accepts it. You can type your own. Skip leaves the fact unsaid, and the field stays as it was.
A yes or no claim, such as dishwasher safe, is not filled in because that is usual for the product. It is suggested only when you said so, or a photo check can see the evidence. Otherwise the card waits.
A photo can support a colour. It cannot support a size.
If the draft has photos, they can be looked at. A visible colour or material can be suggested from that look, with the reason credited to the photo. The agent does not see the photos itself. A height, a capacity, or a care instruction still has to come from you. Cloth that looks like linen is not a fibre content.
Send photos with the + button when the draft does not have any yet. Alt text is written only when you ask for it, or you say yes when it is offered. It is not written over alt text you already set. The set of pictures worth sending is The product photo checklist worth keeping.
When shipping is calculated, weight and the three package dimensions are separate number questions. There is no single box for a guessed weight and size. The numbers that get saved are numbers you gave.
If you have not said it, it is not a fact yet.
If you offer sizes or colours at their own prices, say what each one costs and how many you have. The agent does not guess a price per option. Options you do not price keep the listing price, and the listing can show a range from the lowest to the highest.
Answers land on the draft. Sending it is still a different confirmation: Send the listing to Etsy before shoppers can see it. Products you already sell start with See which Etsy listings are thin before you edit them. The order, from facts to a draft you review, is the one on your agents.
